Finding strength and losing weight in Sedona’s healing trails
2025 is definitely my redemption year. A fresh start to let go of the negativity from the past two years. With 30 extra pounds, my journey begins by putting my health first instead of continuing to put myself last.
I’m saying hello again after two years away from this platform. Today, my goal is to lose at least 25 pounds in the next three to four months.
I’m currently staying at one of the best RV resorts in the area, Distant Drums RV Resort in Camp Verde, just 30 minutes from Sedona. The people here are fantastic. I tried to stay in Sedona, but everything was booked. I am glad I landed in Camp Verde. The people here are super nice!

Sedona is a magical place in Arizona. The drive, the views, and the way the city’s engineers and architects designed the town to blend into such a natural treasure make Sedona one of the top destinations in the United States. I plan to hike Mount Wilson regularly to help reach my weight goal. The trail ranges from 7 to 10 miles, with an elevation of 7,122 feet. It’s a solid five-hour hike.

Sedona offers a wide range of trails, from easy to difficult. It’s an endless playground for outdoor activities like hiking and biking. I can’t pick a favorite. I enjoy them all.
Most trails have excellent access, and there’s a free shuttle you can take from one trail to another. In many cases, the shuttle is the only way to reach the trailhead, as personal vehicles are not allowed in the parking areas. So be sure to use the shuttles!

There are many places like Sedona where you can meditate and connect with nature. However, Sedona offers a variety of experiences within a 20-mile radius, making it incredibly efficient when it comes to its trail system and access to top destinations.
I came here to meditate and improve both emotionally and physically. Sedona is my sanctuary, my place to breathe in and out for better outcomes.

Finally, I encourage you to shop local and visit downtown stores that feature art and jewelry made by Native American artists. These are authentic, Native-made pieces, and you’ll also see many European Americans living and working in the area.
You can enjoy a great meal, and accommodations are first-class throughout Sedona. So don’t forget to appreciate the effort it takes to maintain this beautiful place, keep it clean and support the community whenever you can.
